About Quintessence
The Crucible of 2022
Quintessence was born in New Zealand during a season of profound personal transformation. Following the rapid passing of my father in August 2022, my own emotional healing journey ignited a deep desire to help support people detoxing and recovering from modern enviromental stressors.
This led me toward my first offering: Eastern White Pine (Pinus strobus). Hearing of its popularity in the US and Canada at the time, I spent months tracking down these needles here in New Zealand and creating an amazing extract for friends and family.
When I listed that initial batch of 40 bottles on TradeMe in November 2022, they vanished in one hour ! It became instantly clear that many others were also searching for this magnificent tree.
Forged in the Fire
The inception of this business was an intense trial. I built Quintessence while navigating an infected root canal, chronic fatigue, profound grief, and lingering burnout from a previous business, all while working a full-time job.
As the demand surged, I called upon old technical skills to build Quintessence.nz and transformed a calling into a streamlined operation that I could safely integrate around my own limitations.
Life would not let me rest and I felt possessed with purpose. I poured every ounce of energy and resource I could into the great work.
It was an alchemical process of transmutation on its own, transforming suffering into purpose.
The Alchemy Today
Four years later, that original Eastern White Pine extract remains our most beloved offering. However, the Quintessence range has steadily evolved alongside my own journey.
Today, my offerings are driven by a deep reverence for plant intelligence and a commitment to the alchemical arts. By combining ancient and modern methodologies, I ensure that every elixir captures the complete energetic signature and living Quintessence of the plant.
I work a full time timber machinist job during the week and live as cheaply as possible off grid in the country. This allows me to keep things pure in my business dealings as it's not my income, its my calling.
Im always reinvesting any profits and also some of my wages into improving my offerings for you and those you care about.
